Kiwi Olympic great Dame Lisa Carrington has added another gold medal to her trophy room at the latest canoe sprint World Cup in Poland.
Dame Lisa paddled her way to the women's K1 500m victory at Poznan, just one week after conquering the same race in Czech Republic.
The five-time Olympic gold medallist won with a time of 1m 48.36s to finish 1.01s ahead of Poland's Anna Pulawska and German Jule Hake.
The 32-year-old's time was almost three seconds faster than she recorded on her way to gold at the Tokyo Olympics last year.
The looming threat of Pulawska provided the boost she needed to surge home over the final stretch, said Carrington.
"I sensed she was [coming]," she said. "It was a great competition and having someone as good as her just helped push us along at the end.
"It was a really great race."
Carrington's day also included a silver medal in the K4 500m, alongside Olivia Brett, Alicia Hoskin and Tara Vaughan, and a bronze in the K2 500m with Hoskin.
Her first international event since Tokyo, Dame Lisa is using the World Cup races as warm-up for the world championships in Canada in August.
Last month, Carrington edged rival and world champion Aimee Fisher in a three-race series at Lake Karapiro to earn the sole NZ seat for the women's K1 500m at Nova Scotia.
