A stellar second round has kept Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox right in the title mix at the Dutch Open on Saturday (NZ time).
Fox fired a five-under par 67 to sit tied for fifth place - including five birdies and an eagle - to improve on his opening round of 72 at the Bernadus Golf Course - three shots behind leader Ricardo Gouveia of Portugal.
The 35-year-old began his day in encouraging fashion, with two birdies through his first three holes.
After dropping a shot at the sixth, Fox shot birdies at both the seventh and 11th holes, before an eagle at the 12th propelled him up the leaderboard.
He closed out his round with a birdie at the 18th, cutting four shots off his opening day effort, as he chases his third career title on the European Tour.
After beginning the year with a win in the UAE, the Aucklander has been in hot form, finishing in the top 10 at the British Open and claiming second at the Soudal Open in Belgium.
