Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has set up a potential blockbuster trans-Tasman showdown with leader Hannah Green heading into the final round of the LPGA's Palos Verdes Championship on Sunday (NZ time).
Ko leaned on some sublime putting to card a penultimate round of one-under-par 70 to leave her seven-under for the tournament - just a solitary shot behind Green.
The world No.3 reeled off five birdies in 12 holes courtesy of some sublime putts to move into contention for a potential 18th LPGA title.
She's two shots clear of a chasing pack of nine players tied for third at five-under, which includes American Lexi Thompson and Korean Inbee Park.
Ko will square off with Green in Monday's final round.
The 25-year-old won her 17th title at Boca Rio in January but failed to finish inside the top 10 in her last four outings.
Compatriot Ryan Fox has also moved into title contention, after a third round of two-under 70 moved him to within four shots of leader Oliver Bekker of South Africa in the Catalunya Championship in Spain.
Fox is fifth in the DP World Tour event heading into Monday's final round.
