FULLTIME
80min - The siren sounds but the Chiefs aren't done playing just yet. They're on the visitors 22m and have the penalty advantage. Roe goes quick but loses the ball before it comes to Gatland and he's happy to just put the ball into touch.
78min - Force go long with their kick-off and Finau charges it up before Trask clears long for the Force to return and allowing the Chiefs to launch another attack.
76min - CHIEFS TRY TAUKEI'AHO
Force now the guilty party as they concede the penalty inside their own 10m and the Chiefs will have the attacking lineout just 5m out.
Chiefs win the lineout, begin their march towards the lineout before Taukei'aho breaks away to score his second try.
74min - FORCE TRY MCDONALD
The Force take the lineout quickly and almost go over for the try but the referee rules the ball was held up after some great work from Pita Gus.
The Force piling on the pressure again after a great linebreak up the middle. Replacement halfback, McDonald beats a couple to score the try.
72min - Ill-discipline starting to creep back into the Chiefs as they concede another penalty around halfway. A good touch-finder gives the Force a lineout just 5m out.
70min - The Force try a sneaky chip kick from the left wing Trask reads it brilliantly to take the mark and clear. Force looking to build once again but it's sloppy.
68min - Rodda manages to rip the ball away from Finau. Chiefs countering well at the breakdown and look to have it back but concede the knock on.
66min - CHIEFS TRY TAUKEI'AHO
The Chiefs win the lineout and get their maul rolling. The Force are helpless to defend as the home team match their way over the try line with Samisoni Taukei'aho coming up with it.
64min - Both sides making some changes now as the Chiefs have the scrum just inside the Force 22m. They put the shove on, earning the penalty and we'll have a lineout just five out.
62min - FORCE TRY JEREMY THRUSH
A nice lineout move has the Force just a few metres out from the try line. Kahui goes close on the right wing, before fellow Kiwi, Jeremy Thrush crashes over for the try!
60min - Force finally get their hands on the ball as they look to keep it tight. Chiefs guilty of not rolling away at the breakdown and concede the penalty.
58min - CHIEFS TRY TUPOU VAA'I
Chiefs once against flexing their muscles come scrum time, piling the presure on just a few metres out. The switch direction and Tupou Vaa'i crashes over for another Chiefs try.
56min - Another huge scrum from the Chiefs and they're away through Weber! He steps inside, races down the right wing before putting a kick through. The Force scramble well though and take the ball into touch.
54min - Brown tackles a player off the ball and the Force win another penalty. They can't claim the lineout however and Gatland clears long but it's out on the full.
52min - Chiefs favourite Richard Kahui gets his first touch for the Force since coming on as the Force earn the penalty at the breakdown.
50min - TRY CHIEFS TRASK
Gatland goes right through! He slices through the defence, before linking up with Tupaea, he finds support before shifting left. There's a huge overlap and Trask goes in untouched for the try.
48min - Weber puts the box-kick up and the Force can't haul it in and the Chiefs get another put-in to the scrum. All going the Chiefs way at the moment.
46min - CHIEFS TRY TUPAEA
Gatland runs hard onto Weber's ball off the back of the scrum as the Chiefs march into the Force 22m. Tupaea gets ball, puts out the BIG FEND and he goes over for hat-trick! Just too strong once again from the midfielder.
44min - Force quickly opt for the lineout over the scrum, but they can't get that right either and Pita Gus charges the ball forward, bumping one but loses ball in contact.
42min - We're back underway and the ill-discipline continues for the Force as the concede a penalty at the breakdown, allowing Gatland to find touch for a Chiefs lineout.
HALFTIME
40min - Force just a metre out as their big forwards look to crash it over. Chiefs' defence holding for now though. They finally go out wide but a wayward pass sees the ball go over the sideline.
40min - Force piling on the pressure, forcing another penalty advantage. Chiefs putting in some huge hits in the midfield but Slater is deemed to have gone high. Force opt for the lineout again.
38min - Force stringing together some phases now, keeping it tight, looking to crash it over from the midfield. They're only a few metres out but lose the ball after a great turnover by Finau at the breakdown.
36min - Chiefs ill-discipline creeping in now as they concede another penalty. Force opt for touch and they'll have a lineout just 5m out from the try line.
34min - Gatland fluffs the kick-off and boots it straight into touch. Force opt for the lineout over the scrum and a nice chip kick sees them already inside the Chiefs 22m.
32min - FORCE TRY PULU
Finau makes a HUGE tackle on Strachan but the Force looking good here. They spot space on the left, puts the kick up cross-field for Pulu and the former Chief collects and dives over for the try! Great response from the visitors.
30min - CHIEFS TRY TUPAEA
Force concede another penalty, this time for illegal entry at the maul. Chiefs win another lineout and look to drive, edging closer to the line. Some sloppy play at the back but Tupaea now has it, looks to be contained but somehow power his way through a few would-be-tacklers and scores his second try!
28min - Force do well to put the Chiefs under pressure from the kick-off and force the knock-on for a scrum inside the home side's 10m. The Chiefs scrum is having their absolute way with the Force and win yet another penalty. Just far too strong.
26min - TRY CHIEFS ROSS
Chiefs looking to bash their way over from close in front. Aidan Ross has a crack and he's over! The ref says he's lost sight of the ball and we'll go to the TMO. He wastes no time and confirms the try! Gatland adds the easy two.
24min - Chiefs putting together some nice phases but the Force manage to turn the ball over at the breakdown. The Force look to clear but send it into touch on the full for a Chiefs lineout inside the visitors' 22m.
22min - Yet another HUGE scrum by the Chiefs, they get the advantage but Weber spots space down the left wing and he's away! He puts a kick through for himself to chase but it goes out on the full. There was nobody home for the Force.
20min - The Chiefs defence do brilliantly to stuff the Force maul and force the turnover. Pita Gus launches from the back of the scrum, beats one before a kick-through forces a Force knock-on.
18min - Time off with Cane still down. Looks like he took the knock from a ruck cleanout. He's finally up but doesn't look like he can continue. Brown will replace the All Black.
18min- Chiefs now giving away penalties as the Force play with the advantage. Sam Cane looking a little worse and is down for treatment, looks like his knee. Force opt for the lineout.
16min - Tupaea looks to win the turnover for the Chiefs at the breakdown but is penalised for not releasing. Force find touch inside the Chiefs 22m for their own lineout.
14min - The Force win their own kick-off and look to respond. They shift right to centre Kyle Godwin but hes tackled into touch. Chiefs win their own lineout and clear.
12min - CHIEFS TRY TUPAEA
Another strong Chiefs strong but this time they go wide early. Gatland finds Tupaea who runs a great line, attacking the midfield and he crashes over for the game's opening try.
12min - Another HUGE shove from the Chiefs scrum and they earn yet another penalty after the Force deemed not to have stayed straight. We'll have another scrum!
10min - The Chiefs go wide early and earn another penalty advantage. They shift wide to Tiatia and a great tackle around the ankles ends the attack. The Chiefs opt for the scrum.
8min - The Chiefs are awarded a penalty after a deliberate knock on from the Force, as well as an offiside call. Gatland finds touch and the Chiefs will have a lineout in great territory.
6min - Both teams happy to play a game of forceback. Gatland finds touch just inside the Force half and we'll have a lineout. Plenty of kicking early on.
4min - The Chiefs put a huge shove on the scrum but the Force do well to retain and clear before Tiatia returns with interest thanks to a fortuitous bounce.
2min - Gatland gets the game underway for the Chiefs and the Force immediately loose the ball from the kick-off and the home team can attack. However, they too knock on and we'll have a scrum inside the Force 22m.
Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Super Rugby Pacific clash between the Chiefs and Western Force at Hamilton's FMG Stadium.
Since their demoralising scoreless effort against the Blues last month, the Waikato side have thrust themselves back in the home playoff hunt with four wins from their last five outings, but needed to produce a last-minute gamewinner against Melbourne Rebels last week and withstand a late Queensland Reds run two weeks before that.
On paper, their form looks strong, but they desperately need a comprehensive performance to consolidate their top-four standing and banish doubts over their temperament.
Since boasting of his scrum's showing against the Reds, Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan has had to watch his forwards put in their place over the last two weeks and will hope that facet of play can improve, with a potential quarter-final rematch against Queensland looming.
The Chiefs are bolstered by the returns of first-five Bryn Gatland, lock Tupou Vaa'i and centre Alex Nankivell to the starting line-up.
