Tireless loose forward Ethan Blackadder has been named the 2022 Crusaders Player of the Year at the Super Rugby Pacific side's annual awards function.
The All Black also picked up the 'Champion Crusader' award - the only peer-voted accolade - for the second consecutive year, recognising a player's selfless contribution to the team environment, both on and off the field.
A further four awards were presented on the evening, with Zach Gallagher, 20, named Rookie of the Year, after an impressive debut season in the second row.
Cullen Grace was named Forward of the Year, after stellar performances in the No.8 jersey, while Will Jordan, who leads the competition in carry metres and boasts eight tries, was given the award for the best back.
Argentine international Pablo Matera was awarded the new 'Te Mārohirohi' award for his determination, tenacity, strength and bravery.
Assistant coach Tamati Ellison presented the award, and acknowledged Matera for being resolute in his commitment to bring his skill and experience into the environment, and to leave his mark on the club.
