After missing the Tokyo Olympics, both of New Zealand's men's and women's sevens teams are welcoming back some major star power for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Injury saw men's captain Sam Dickson and women's veteran Niall Williams ruled out of last year's Games.
And both are determined to make up for lost time, in more ways than one.
Dickson's just happy to be back with his teammates, eyeing up a gold medal.
"At the time, I thought the world was ending," he said.
That's because upon arrival in Tokyo for last year's Olympics, Dickson was ruled out with a hamstring injury.
Fast forward 12 months and he's been named to captain the side at the Commonwealth Games.
"It's definitely made me hungry," he continued. "I've realised how much I missed out and love being around the boys.
"So I guess that's a positive out of it."
Niall Williams also knows what that's like.
The Black Ferns Sevens veteran suffered a serious neck problem, forcing her to sit at home and watch as her sevens sisters tasted elusive Olympic gold.
"Missing out on that journey has made this journey a little bit more special to be a part of," Williams said.
"I'm definitely going out there and I'm going to take in every moment I can. Just experience it, and probably not put that much pressure on myself.
"[I'll] just actually enjoy that moment, and be in it with my teammates and management."
And while delighted to welcome her back, Williams' skipper is bracing for some misbehaviour in Birmingham.
"It's funny, because she is a mum and pretty organised," said captain Sarah Hirini. "But when she's on tour, she acts probably the most immature - so I'm sure it'll be a good time."
"The hypocrisy," Williams retorted.
A bit of mischief to hopefully go with a gold medal.
