Live updates: NZ Warriors v Manly Sea Eagles at 4 Pines Park, Sydney

NZ Warriors - 12         Manly Sea Eagles - 44

FULLTIME - Well, that was ugly. Again. Click here for a full wrap and highlights.

78th min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Jason Saab

Saab pinches an intercept and goes 80m to drive one final dagger into NZ hearts. (Manly 44-12)

76th min - TRY WARRIORS to Bunty Afoa

Simple wind up and run for Afoa and he grabs a consolation try for the Warriors. (Manly 38-12)

73rd min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Ruben Garrick

Berry can't reel in the bomb, using his head where his hands should've been and the ball rolls clear for Garrick to pounce and claim his second try of the night. (Manly 38-6)

72nd min - Manly a couple of metres out.

62nd min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Ruben Garrick

Morgan Harper breaks open the NZ defence and Garrick is on hand to run the final 30m to score. (Manly 32-6)

59th min - Poor pass from Johnson on the fifth tackle, puts DWZ under pressure with an erratic pass. Penalty Manly, and the Sea Eagles are back inside the NZ half.

57th min - Warriors back on attack. Johnson ends the set with a well weighted grubber to force a dropout. Six more coming up.

54th min - TRY WARRIORS to Jack Murchie

Reece Walsh with room on the right edge, goes to ground but pops back and finds Mucrhie inside, and the forward does well to outmuscle the defence abd get over the line. Walsh converts. (Manly 26-6)

48th min - Warriors with multiple tackles in the Manly 20m! CHT drops a perfect kick for Murchie, who reels it in but can't get the ball on the deck. Superb cover tackle by Morgan Harper. That's a handover.

43rd min - Olakau'atu picking up where he left off, wreaking havoc on the Warriors defence. Penalty against NZ, Manly curiously opt for a shot at goal. Garrick slots it. (26-0)

41st min - Time to grit your teeth and hold on tight, Warriors fans.

Second half underway...

HALFTIME - Mercifully for the Warriors, the first half has come to an end. Tempers flaring as the teams leave the field. This is ugly.... for NZ, at least.

38th min - Warriors penalty at their own 10m. Handbags out, frustrations aplenty for NZ.

30th min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Josh Schuster

Manly march 70m from kick-off and Schuster muscles his way over in the corner. One-way traffic is an understatement. (Manly 24-0)

28th min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Martin Taupau

Bizarre situation here, as Martin Taupau gets up to the play the ball but is told by the referee he'd grounded the ball on the chalk. Eventually they decide to go upstairs and the TMO says there isnlt sufficent evidence to say he'd got the ball on the chalk. So weird, so Warriors. (Manly 20-0)

27th min - Garrick grubbers for himself from a metre out. He's clearly held back, referee says he got to the ball before the NZ defence and awards the try. Review shows Egan got there first, but Bunty Afoa will cop a yellow card for his troubles.

26th min - I'm not sure the Warriors have had a tackle inside the Manly 40m yet. It's been that kind of night.

Manly 10m out.

21st min - Koula breaks for Manly, taken deep inside the NZ redzone. Unforced error lets the Warriors off the hook.

18th min - Montoya flattened by Olakau'atu. He's been a one-man wrecking machine here early.

Schuster bombs to the posts and NZ are pinged again for an escort. Six more coming for Manly.

Scratch that, Foran will take the gift two points. (Manly 14-0)

16th min - Again, Manly target Montoya in the air. The wing gets up and spills it under duress, referee rules him tackled in the air. Penalty NZ.

Aitken knocks on first play. Warriors back under pressure.

11th min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Haumole Olakau'atu

Manly far too powerful at the tryline against this suspect Warriors defence, and the big forward fends, spins and stretches out to touch down in the tackle. Conversion over. (Manly 12-0)

8th min - Murdoch-Masila penalilsed for a high tackle. More attacking ball for Manly.

NZ defence holds on but there's s fresh set of six coming up for the Sea Eagles via the goal-line dropout.

7th min - Easy metres for Manly from the restart. Bomb to the corner yet again and Montoya is underneath it.

5th min - TRY SEA EAGLES to Toafofoa Sipley

All too easy for Sipley, who just picks up and powers his way over from dummy half a metre out. (Manly 6-0)

4th min - Foran on a dime to the corner, Montoya collects but referee deems he was escorted. Manly ball.

3rd min - Strange option by Johnson with the midfield bomb on the last. Kind bounce for Harris but he has to force the pass, Manly ball near halfway.

2nd min - Croker through half a gap. Bomb to the corner and Walsh is up to the task.

1st min - Manly get us started, Warriors receive.

We're underway....

9:33pm - Both teams out on the pitch on a calm night at Sydney. Let's get into it.

NZ Warriors coach Nathan Brown admits Matt Lodge's early exit caused 'issues' among squad

By James Regan

NZ Warriors coach Nathan Brown accepts the fallout from the departure of Matt Lodge caused the club some "issues" within the playing group.

The side are now without a win in their last five matches, with their forward muscle dealt a major blow with Lodge leaving and Addin Fonua-Blake sidelined with injury.

Last week, it was revealed  an argument with owner Mark Robinson was a significant factor in Lodge leaving the club.

Brown, who after Saturday's defeat to the Newcastle Knights took responsibility for the prop's early exit, admits the incident had an impact on the dressing room.

"I'd be lying if I said there weren't some little issues there for a period of time," Brown said,

"We certainly addressed some issues and moved forward."

Brown made it clear the Lodge fall was no excuse for the two defeats since he was granted an immediate release from the club, and insists players have moved on, as they aim to break their losing streak against Manly this weekend.

"The team's been very unified the past two weeks. I don't think it's played a part in us losing the past two weeks.

"Certainly when those things are happening behind the scenes there's no doubt there's bits of trouble going on. Little bits of things that don't certainly help the team.

"Once it got addressed and [Lodge] moved on and we moved on since then, we've made some progress. I don't think it's any reason  why we haven't won our past two games, that's for sure."

The Warriors must now set about getting their season back on track, with another day of costly errors costing them dearly against the Knights.

"Some of the errors we've made at different stages you wouldn't expect to see at the level we're at. Catching kick offs, kicking out on the full that sort of stuff.

"Unfortunately, it's not one person doing it or two because you could easily not pick one or two, we're having dips in different parts of the game."

Brown also threw his support behind forward Jazz Tevaga, who gave a passionate post game interview following the Knights defeat.

"Jazz is in career best form. Jazz is a far better player than he was 12 months ago. It wasn't too long ago [he] had some areas of his game with discipline and that sort of stuff which were causing bits of grief in different area of himself," Brown said.

"He's certainly earning the right to challenge people to do the right thing. I don't think [he] is a finger pointer, Jazz is understanding there's people putting in a lot of hard work and a lot of people doing the right thing.

"If we collectively get people doing the right thing we can certainly get the scoreboard to go in our favour."
