Dalton Papalii will start at blindside flanker for the All Blacks, as the only change to the starting side for Saturday's second test against Ireland at Dunedin.
Fresh from last Saturday's 42-19 victory at Eden Park, coach Ian Foster was forced into at least one change, after lock Sam Whitelock was ruled out due to concussion.
Papalii, 24, comes into the starting side in Whitelock's place, with Scott Barrett shifting into the second row, after wearing No.6 at Eden Park.
The Blues captain will play out of position, after establishing himself as one of the country's in-form openside flankers, with captain Sam Cane keeping the No.7 jersey and Ardie Savea completing the loose forward trio.
Aside from the forced changes needed after Whitelock's withdrawal, Foster has largely kept faith with the same starting side that won last week.
The front row is unchanged, as George Bower, Codie Taylor and Ofa Tuungafasi keep their spots, while Brodie Retallick partners Scott Barrett to complete the tight five.
Beauden Barrett and Aaron Smith combine again at first-five and halfback respectively, unchanged from last week.
In midfield, Foster has resisted bringing back the pair of David Havili and Jack Goodhue, who both missed the first test with COVID-19.
In the outside backs, Sevu Reece keeps his starting spot over Will Jordan, named on the bench, after also recovering from COVID.
Prop Aidan Ross and halfback Folau Fakatava have been named for their potential debuts off the bench, providing cover for Bower and Smith.
Lock Patrick Tuipulotu has also been named on the bench, after returning to the squad this week, needing sign-off from NZ Rugby, after playing a season in Japan, instead of Super Rugby Pacific.
Victory on Saturday will see the All Blacks take a series win with one game to spare.
"While I was delighted at how we performed and the leadership shown in the first test match, we will need to really lift and improve in some key areas," Foster said.
"We know the Irish will throw everything at us this week to keep the series alive.
"We've again had challenges this week, but we feel this team has laid a foundation to build on and is desperate to improve against a very determined Irish side."
