Ireland prop Andrew Porter has been cited for his dangerous tackle on All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick in the third test at Wellington.
Porter copped a yellow card from referee Wayne Barnes for his head-on-head contact with Retallick, as he attempted a tackle in his side's series-clinching 32-22 win at Sky Stadium.
Retallick suffered a broken cheekbone in the incident and is expected to be sidelined for the next six weeks.
"Cheekbone is all back together thanks to the staff at Hawkes Bay hospital," Retallick wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. "A few weeks needed to let it heal up."
Porter's tackle drew the ire of many All Blacks supporters, who believed the head contact met the same criteria that saw All Blacks prop Angus Ta'avao marched during the second test at Dunedin, after banging heads with Ireland midfielder Garry Ringrose.
Ta'avao unsuccessfully argued with the World Rugby judiciary that his red card from Jaco Peyper was unwarranted, due to mitigating circumstances, and was struck with a three-week ban.
Match citing commissioner James Sherriff has reported Porter, who'll face a disciplinary hearing via video link on Wednesday (NZ time).
Ireland's win on Saturday clinched their first-ever test series victory against the All Blacks.
