Fanfare is nothing new for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck. But even for an athlete of his experience, nothing can quite prepare him for an All Black debut.
The 29-year-old has been named for his first appearance in the black jersey on Saturday night, and will start from the bench in the All Blacks' crucial decider against Ireland.
But having only made the transition back from rugby league this year, even he's still coming to terms with his rapid rise.
And Tuivasa-Sheck is holding nothing back in getting up to speed with everything that comes with international rugby.
"Even being in camp, walking around with the fern on your chest, but just being in All Blacks camp and then being named to play is just an honour," he said.
"I'm just trying to learn my role as a 12, trying to learn the All Blacks' system. I'm just on my iPad and on my notes just watching."
A heavy workload, so Tuivasa-Sheck is thankful for the calming influence of coach Ian Foster.
"Foz [Foster] taps us all on the shoulder and said 'we're not building robots here, you're footy players, we're giving you a guide of how we want to play, but I want you to just go out there and play'."
And while he may still be finding his feet with elements of the game, Foster's been impressed, and is confident he can deliver in the black jersey.
"He's an experienced player," Foster said. "He knows about the big stages, and he knows you don't just go and overplay your hand.
"So we just want him to do the job that his team needs him to do.
Simple advice, but it's hard to hide from the enormity of what's at stake.
"It'll be a bit overwhelming," added Tuivasa-Sheck. "But I've got to zone in as quick as I can."
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck couldn't have asked for a more important test to debut in.
