Kiwi Ryan Fox has tumbled from the lead of the Irish Open, plagued by bogeys during his second round at Thomastown.
Ahead by one shot after an eight-under-par opening round of 64, Fox slid to 11th equal with a one-over 73, now four stroke adrift of new pacesetter Jorge Campillo of Spain.
Tuning up for this month's British Open Championship, the world No.56 went bogey free on the tournament's first day, but blotted his scorecard with four of them the next day, including three in the opening nine holes.
Fox, 35, actually began his round with a birdie, but immediately gave that stroke back with a bogey on the par-four second, then two more on the sixth and seventh holes.
Earlier this week, he recorded his third top-three finish in five starts on the European Tour, with third at the BMW International.
Campillo was one of four chasing Fox on the opening day, but maintained his charge with a four-under 68 and leads Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti and Pole Adrian Meronk by a stroke.
