Kiwi Steven Alker is one shot behind the leaders, heading into the final round of the PGA's Senior British Open at Gleneagles, Scotland.
Alker, 50, shot a four-under 66 in his third round to move to eight-under overall after shooting two-under 68s in his first two rounds.
The Kiwi made six birdies and two bogeys in his third round, moving to within touching distance of the lead before the final round to be played on Monday morning (NZ time).
Starting on the front nine, Alker made even par before back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes, before a bogey on the ninth pulled the Kiwi back.
Two more birdies on the 10th and 11th holes saw Alker carry on his ride up the leaderboard, before another bogey on the 12th hampered his run.
The bogey on the 12th was the second time in as many rounds Alker dropped a shot on the 12th, after also doing so on Saturday morning (NZ time).
But Alker was able to shrug off the setback, and made three straight pars before a birdie on the 16th, and finished with one last birdie on the 18th, taking him to four-under for his third round.
In a tie for third with USA's Jerry Kelly, Alker is one shot off the leading pair of Paul Broadhurst of England, and Northern Ireland's Darren Clarke, both at nine-under.
Victory would give Alker his second senior Major title, coming after he became the first New Zealander to do so when he claimed the Senior PGA Championship back in May.
