Kiwi driver Liam Lawson will make his Formula One weekend debut at the Belgian Grand Prix with AlphaTauri on August 27.
Lawson, 20, has been part of the Red Bull junior team since 2019, and currently races full-time in the Formula Two Championship.
He sits eighth in the standings of the drivers' championship, with four rounds remaining in the 2022 campaign.
Lawson previously tested for AlphaTauri, with team boss Franz Tost confirming the Kiwi will be behind the wheel for the Friday practice session (FP1) at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
"We plan to run Liam Lawson in FP1 in Spa," he said.
His opportunity comes after Formula One introduced a new policy, where all teams must allocate two practice sessions to rookie drivers in a bid to give them more on-track experience.
Lawson is expected to fill in for one more practice session with AlphaTauri, and another for Red Bull this season.
AlphaTaura currently have Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda on their books, but it's unclear which driver will miss the practice session in Belgium.
Lawson is the second Red Bull junior member to run a FP1 this year, after Juri Vips drove Red Bull's RB18 car in Spain.
Having already been named as Red Bull's reserve driver this year, his rise has come as a surprise to few.
Lawson previously revealed to Newshub his aspirations of gaining a Formula One seat with Red Bull.
"I'm in the same programme I've been in for the last four years, and it's all performance based, and it always has been," he told Newshub.
"From my side, I just need to perform at the highest level I can every time I step in the car.
"That'll give me the best opportunity to eventually make that step, or step into future roles."
