Kiwi athletics star Tom Walsh has announced his engagement to long-time partner Dana Mulcahy.
The two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist and former world champion shot putter made it official on social media, sharing a photo of the pair on the shores of Canterbury's picturesque Lake Benmore.
Mulcahy shows off her new ring, both sporting beaming smiles, with just a pair of emojis to accompany it.
Timaru's Mulcahy has been a fixture at Walsh's side on the red carpet at the Halberg Awards as far back as 2017, when he won his first of two Sportsman of the Year awards.
Kiwi Paralympic legend Dame Sophie Pascoe was among the wellwishers, dubbing the engagement 'AMAZING NEWS!!!'.
Many of Walsh's Commonwealth Games and Olympic teammates also weighed in with their congratulations, including rower Emma Twigg, squash star Paul Coll and mountanbiker Anton Cooper.
"Yay! Awesome guys!! Best news," wrote Twigg, while Cooper added: "Congrats big man."
Walsh and Mulcahy reside at Christchurch, where he's enjoying some well-earned downtime, after his season - which included victory at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games - wrapped up last week.
