Blackcaps opener Martin Guptill has been selected for a record-breaking seventh T20 World Cup, after being named in the 15-player squad for the tournament in Australia, beginning in October.
The 35-year-old was a predictable inclusion and remains a regular feature for New Zealand at the top of the order in white-ball cricket.
Meanwhile, Wellington Firebirds duo Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell will make their World Cup debuts, and are the only new faces from the side that made last year's final.
Allen has played 13 T20 internationals since making his debut in 2021, while Bracewell has become a regular in all forms of cricket for New Zealand, since coming into the side this year.
Fast bowler Adam Milne has also retained his spot in the squad, alongside Lockie Ferguson, whom he replaced at last year's showpiece at UAE, but there is no place for bowling all-rounder Kyle Jamieson, who continues to nurse a back injury.
The Blackcaps will play Pakistan and Bangladesh in a T20 series at Christchurch's Hagley Oval to prepare for the World Cup.
NZ coach Gary Stead has praised Guptill for the monumental achievement and looks forward to getting their preparations underway.
"It's always a special time, announcing a World Cup squad, and I'd like to congratulate the 15 players selected today." he said.
"It's especially exciting for Finn and Michael, who are set for their first ICC events, while Martin Guptill is preparing for his seventh T20 World Cup, which in itself is an incredible achievement.
"It's great to have this tournament so soon after last year's event in which we played some really good cricket, but couldn't quite get over the line at the end.
"With the nucleus of that squad retained, along with the exciting additions of Finn and Michael, we should go into the tournament with plenty of optimism."
