The All Whites' homecoming against Australia at Eden Park will be captain Winston Reid's last appearance for the national team, with the veteran defender announcing his retirement after Sunday's clash.
Plagued by injury in recent years, Reid, 34, will call time on an international career that's seen him make 32 appearances for New Zealand.
Reid has scored just one goal for the All Whites, earning a 1-1 draw with Slovakia at the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa, as New Zealand famously finished as the tournament's only unbeaten side.
As the NZ side return for their first home game since 2017, Reid will bow out of the international game in front of a Kiwi crowd.
"It is great to have the opportunity to play my final international game in Auckland," he said. "It's going to be nice to come home to the city I grew up in, where I first started playing football."
Reid retires at a time when the All Whites boast healthy central defensive stocks, with Michael Boxall, Nando Pijnaker and Bill Tuiloma among those pushing for a starting spot.
Head coach Danny Hay has thanked the uncompromising centre-back for his work with New Zealand.
"I've really appreciated our time together, since I've been All Whites head coach," Hay said.
"The mana he holds within this group of players is inspiring and I know he is someone the squad have hugely benefited from being around, on and off the pitch."
Reid has been without a club since leaving West Ham, after a loan spell at Brentford for the 2020/21 season.
The All Whites face Australia at Brisbane on Thursday, before returning to Auckland for the second and final match to commemorate 100 years of the trans-Tasman football rivalry.
