Football Ferns coach Jitka Klimkova has included one new name in her side to face Japan at Nagano on October 9.
Midfielder Alyssa Whinham, 18, has been called up for a potential international debut, rewarded for a standout campaign with Wellington Phoenix and a star turn with the U20 Football Ferns side that impressed at the World Cup in Costa Rica in August.
The rest of the squad are unchanged from beating Mexico and the Philippines at Los Angeles this month.
"Alyssa will bring a lot of creativity to the Ferns whānau," said Klimkova. "Her skills on the ball are just different, compared with what we have in the team so far.
"She's a very unpredictable player and it will be fun to see how she fits in, and how she adapts to the greater physicality and speed of senior international football."
Ranked No.11 in the world, Japan have lost just once in their last 12 games and will provide a much clearer test of recent improvements, as New Zealand build towards next year's World Cup on home soil.
The Football Ferns have never beaten the Japanese, with a pair of draws their best results in nine previous encounters.
"It's great that we’re coming back together so soon after two wins, giving us the opportunity to build on that momentum, as we go into this window’s game with Japan, who obviously are a tough opposition," Klimkova added.
After a huge stretch of away games, the Kiwi women are expected to return to NZ shores in November to play opponents yet to be confirmed.
