After a decade, the world's best rally drivers are once again tearing around Auckland Domain on day one of Rally New Zealand.
Championship leader Kalle Rovanpera set the fastest time in the shakedown, with the 21-year-old on course to become the sport's youngest world champion.
With three rounds remaining only one driver can mathematically catch him - Estonian Ott Tanak.
All eyes weren't on the championship rivals at shakedown though, with former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw riding shotgun with Brit Gus Greensmith.
"Excited probably, more than nervous," McCaw told Newshub. "I trust these guys know what they're doing."
The drivers were carrying a national treasure - but did they know it?
"To be honest, I'm more of a football fan," said Greensmith.
"I have no idea what rugby is," added Irishman Craig Breen.
Former Norwegian world champion Petter Solberg has competed in 11 Rally New Zealands, but even he had no clue who was sitting next to him.
Despite that, McCaw was happy to sign away his life and jump in the silly seat. The headgear is a little different to what he's used to and there was no holding back.
In fact, with his new co-driver, Greensmith set the sixth fastest run of the day and the All Blacks legend was delivered home in one piece.
"I've been lucky to do a few things," said McCaw. "I think that's top of the list."
Good luck rubbing the grin off that face anytime soon.
