National Provincial Championship: Canterbury fightback stuns Hawke's Bay, North Harbour crush Counties Manukau

Canterbury have overturned a 17-point deficit in 25 minutes to stun Hawke's Bay at Christchurch in the National Provincial Championship.

The home team claimed a stunning come-from-behind 32-28 victory over the Magpies, with a late Tom Christie try sealing the deal.

Hawke's Bay looked to be cruising to victory, after Brad Weber crossed for a try to have his side up 25-8, but for a dramatic fightback.

Isaiah Punivai and Billy Harmon hit back for Canterbury with tries of their own, before Christie crossed for the matchwinner.

The Magpies led 13-5 at the break, courtesy of tries to Lolagi Visinia and Ollie Sapsford, but Canterbury's last-quarter surge proved too much for the visitors.

Meanwhile, North Harbour crushed Counties Manukau 37-12 in a five-try demolition on Auckland's North Shore.

Canterbury 32 (Ngane Punivai, Isaiah Punivai, Harmon, Christie tries; Burke 2 penalties & 3 conversions) Hawke’s Bay 28 (Visinia, Sapsford, Weber tries; McClutchie 2 penalties & 2 conversion, Weber penalty)

North Harbour 37 (Li, Taefu, Booth, Telea tries, penalty try; Gatland 2 penalties & 2 conversions) Counties Manukau 12 (Fineanganofo, Ofa tries; Hohepa conversion)
