The Silver Ferns' Taini Jamison Trophy series against Jamaica is back on track, but will proceed in an abbreviated format.
Netball NZ has confirmed the tourists' visa issues that scuppered this weekend's games have been resolved and - due to "logistical challenges" - a reduced two-test series will go ahead, rather than the originally scheduled three.
Both tests will be held at Auckland's Eventfinda Stadium, with the first played on Wednesday and the second on Thursday.
Jamaica’s trip was delayed, after complications with their passports forced Netball NZ to cancel the Hamilton leg of the series and move all the games to Auckland.
The squad are currently en route to Aotearoa, travelling in two separate groups. Half the team will arrive in Auckland on Monday, with the remainder due to touch down on Tuesday.
Netball NZ chief commercial officer David Cooper says its is pleased to be able to move forward with certainty, after several setbacks.
"Seeing these two great teams on court playing for the Taini Jamison Trophy has been the goal all along and we’re excited that this prospect is a step closer," said Cooper.
"I'd like to thank the team behind the scenes, who have been working around the clock to ensure this series has the best chance possible to go ahead, but I'd also like to recognise our netball fans, who have been affected by the flow-on effects of rescheduling matches.
"Now our focus can return to what we hope is an exciting series between the Silver Ferns and Jamaica."
Netball Jamaica president Tricia Robinson says they were pleased to finally be on their way to New Zealand for the revised series.
"We are very much looking forward to finally arriving in New Zealand and getting on court for what we know will be a great series," said Robinson.
