Kiwi Ferns and Sydney Roosters halfback Raecene McGregor has been named as the best player in the women's game, winning the NRLW Dally M Medal.
After a standout season with the Roosters, McGregor was named as the competition's best halfback, as well as winning the outright best player award.
McGregor led the NRLW in assists with 10 from five matches, as her Roosters side went unbeaten through the regular season. She also contributed a further five linebreak assists, averaging 107 run metres per game.
"I just want to say I'm really honoured to get this award," McGregor said. "There are so many girls out there that definitely deserve this award, I'm really grateful to receive it.
"I'm really proud and really grateful for the Roosters to pick me up last minute and give me the opportunity to play in this beautiful club.
"Unfortunately, we fell short in the semi-final, but next year is another year. That's what we're striving for."
Born in Australia to Kiwi parents, McGregor hoped to continue for the Kiwi Ferns at the upcoming Rugby League World Cup in England, looking to add to her six test caps.
"I'm just really grateful for that, to represent my family - my mum, my dad. I know they're really proud of me.
"To put that jersey on is an absolute honour, to represent them."
