NZ Breakers have completed a late heist over Cairns Taipans, fighting back to steal a 68-64 win in Cairns.
Down 32-23 at halftime, the Kiwi side didn't lead until the final quarter - but held on to record their fourth win from their first six games of the new ANBL season.
The victory was made all the more remarkable after the Breakers fell behind 16-5 after the first quarter, only to claw their way back against the top-of-the-table side.
Import Barry Brown Jr led the way for the Breakers, scoring 24 points, while Jarrell Brantley (13 points) and Izayah Mauriohooho (11 points) also chipped in.
For the Taipans, DJ Hogg scored an impressive 25 points to go with five rebounds, as Bul Koul added 13 points, with four rebounds and two assists.
Victory moves the Breakers to second place on the ANBL ladder with four wins and two defeats from their first six games, overtaking the Taipans - who have the same win/loss record for a worst points differential.
Sydney Kings currently top the ANBL standings - also with four wins and two defeats - thanks to a superior differential over the Breakers.
The game was the Breakers' fifth in the past 16 days, but the Kiwi side can enjoy a well-earned four days off before they return to the court against Adelaide 36ers next Friday.
Adelaide are currently fourth on the ladder, with two wins and one loss from their first three matches of the new season.
