NRL: NZ Warriors star Josh Curran charged over alleged assault of teenager at nightclub

NZ Warriors forward Josh Curran has been charged with assault, after an alleged incident at a Port Macquarie nightclub earlier this month.

NSW Police have confirmed Curran has been charged following an altercation which saw a 16-year-old suffer facial injuries and had his phone stolen.

"Following inquiries, investigators arrested a 23-year-old man after attending Manly Police Station on Wednesday," a police statement read.

"He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and larceny.

"The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 7 December."

Since joining the team from Sydney Roosters in 2019, Curran has been one of the Warriors' best and most consistent performers.

The Sydney-born second-rower has represented Indigenous side three times in the NRL's annual All Star game.
