Stalwart Thomas Leuluai will finish his career as NZ Kiwis captain, named to lead the side in their pre-Rugby League World Cup hitout against Leeds Rhinos on Sunday (NZ time).
Leuluai, 37, announced his retirement from club rugby league after the 2022 UK Super League season, after more than 200 appearances across two stints with Wigan Warriors.
And as a final swansong, Leuluai has been named as the Kiwis' honorary captain by Michael Maguire, as his last appearance for his country.
Leuluai has played 39 tests for the Kiwis, although Sunday's clash does not hold test status.
Elsewhere, fellow Kiwis Dean Whare and Willie Isa will be given the chance for an international farewell, who play for Catalans and Wigan respectively in the Super League.
Aside from the selections of Leuluai, Whare and Isa, coach Michael Maguire has named as strong a side as possible for the pre-World Cup clash.
Even without the six players who took part in Sunday's NRL Grand Final between, and the Sydney Roosters duo of Joseph Manu (injured) and Jared Waerea-Hargeaves (suspended), the Kiwis starting side appears as close to full strength as possible.
A number of players return from the team that defeated Mate Ma'a Tonga earlier this year, with 11 players returning.
At fullback, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad takes Manu's place, while Nelson Asofa-Solomona starts in the front row for Waerea-Hargreaves.
At centre, Sebastian Kris plays his first game in a Kiwis jersey, as Kieran Foran deputises for Dylan Brown at five-eighth, combining with Leuluai in the halves as Jahrome Hughes drops to the bench.
Jeremy Marshall-King, brother of Kiwis great Benji Marshall will also debut, named in the No.17 jersey.
