Rugby League World Cup: Week one review - Kiwis underwhelm, as England stamp class

The first round of this year's Rugby League World Cup 2021 has drawn to a close and has delivered no shortage of drama in the opening week of games.

Samoa provided the biggest talking point of the round, with their star-studded team hardly firing a shot at hosts England, who ran out 60-6 win in the first game of the tournament.

Australia, New Zealand and Tonga all recorded wins, although the tournament heavyweights didn't have it all their own way, with plenty to work on for each of the sides heading into round two.

The NZ Kiwis will face Jamaica in their second match of the competition on Sunday, where they'll be eager to rectify the slow start they made in the 34-12 win over Lebanon.

Join us as we take a closer look at all of the action from week one.
