NZ Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga has extended his lengthy stay with the club, signing a new one-year deal until the end of 2024.
Tevaga's current contract was set to expire at the end of the 2023 campaign, but the extension will see him spend a ninth season with the NZ-based NRL side.
Last year, the 27-year-old became the latest member of the Warriors' centurion club and is behind only Shaun Johnson as the most experienced player in the squad.
"Jazz contributes so much to what our club stands for," said Warriors general manager of recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden.
"He brings so much energy, toughness and passion to the team as well as so much care and pride for a club which has been his home for so long.
"We're thrilled he’ll be with us for another year as we head into an era of real change."
Tevaga required season-ending shoulder surgery after an injury suffered in the loss to Melbourne Storm at Auckland, ruling him out of Samoa's fairytale Rugby League World Cup campaign.
Capable of playing every position in the pack, Tevaga's utility value has been priceless to the Warriors, as has his relentless work rate.
Over his career with the club to date - which began in 2016 - he's averaging 84 metres and 34 tackles a game.
With a new coach at the hem and finally back on home soil after their COVID-enforced Australian relocation, Tevaga is brimming with enthusiasm for what's ahead.
"I'm excited with what lies ahead with a new coach in [Andrew Webster] and a lot of new players," said Tevaga.
"I can't wait to be playing in front of our fans at last. That's what I've missed the most."
The Warriors open the 2023 season against Newcastle Knights at Wellington on March 3.
