Latrell Mitchell and captain James Tedesco have led Australia to their 12th Rugby League World Cup title with a 30-10 victory over Toa Samoa at Manchester's Old Trafford.
Samoa had produced two giant-killing performances to make the final, beating Tonga in the quarter-finals, before toppling the hosts England in the semis.
Australia had rolled through the group stages and quarter-finals, but were made to work in their epic semi-final victory over the Kiwis last weekend.
In the final, Australia showed why they had won the tournament nine out of the last 10 times and three on the bounce, with a six-try-to-two victory in front of a packed Old Trafford crowd.
Samoa made the better start, as they won the territory battle with some nice offloads and powerful forward play, but Australia opened the scoring, when Mitchell powered his way through two defenders to score the game's first try after 14 minutes.
Just five minutes later, Australia got their second, after Josh Addo-Carr broke two timid Samoan defenders to storm into the backfield, before drawing and passing to put Tedesco over.
Australia continued to dominate the backstages of the first half, as they played clinical rugby league and didn't let Samoa's big outside backs into the game.
Ten minutes before halftime, Australia scored their third try, when they came down the short side and Panthers forward Liam Martin muscled his way over in the corner to make it 14-0 at halftime.
The lead could've been more, but Nathen Cleary kicked poorly from the tee - missing two of the three conversions.
Australia made an uncharacteristic start to the second half, with four errors to give Samoa hope of a second-half revival.
Samoa's chances grew even more, when Angus Chricton was sent to the sin bin for an elbow to the head of former Warriors halfback Chanel Harris-Tavita, who was knocked out cold.
But Samoa couldn't make it count and Australia scored next, after Cleary produced a brilliant pass to put Cameron Murray over to make it 20-0 after 53 minutes.
Just as Australia looked like they might run away, Samoa got on the board, when Jarome Luai threw a brilliant 30-metre cutout pass, which saw Brian To'o score in the corner.
Australia hit back eight minutes later, when Tedesco grabbed his second try of the final, after the Kangaroos spine combined perfectly and Cleary put his skipper into an alarming hole to open up a 20-point lead again.
The spirited Samoan side didn't give up, as Stephen Crichton grabbed an intercept from a pass from Ben Hunt and sprinted 40-metres to score his side's second try.
Mitchell capped off a brilliant grand final performance with his second try of the final and his team's sixth, after Cleary laid on his third assist of the night.
Australia 30 (Mitchell 2, Tedesco 2, Martin & Murray tries; Cleary 3 conversions) Samoa 10 (To'o & Crichton tries; Crichton conversion)
