Rugby League World Cup organisers are so confident of an Australian semi-final victory over New Zealand, NZ Kiwis' flights home have reportedly been booked for Sunday (NZ time).
On Saturday morning, the Kiwis and Kangaroos will face off at Leeds for the first of two tournament semis, with the winners to play either England or Samoa in the grand final.
But according to the Sydney Morning Herald, organisers have pre-booked flights for the Kiwis - currently ranked No.1 in the world - to leave England the day after the semi-final.
Before the tournament began, organisers attempted to predict when teams would be eliminated to plan for departures in advance.
The Sydney Morning Herald also claims organisers have already been left red-faced in this tournament, having to change travel plans, when failing to predict Samoa would defeat Tonga to reach the semi-finals earlier this week.
A cost of $350 per ticket is applied to change flights, if predictions are wrong, with Samoa's victory costing officials more than $10,000 to change plans for the entire squad and support staff.
Newshub understands that should the Kiwis emerge victorious, they would replace the Kangaroos in their Manchester accommodation for the final at Manchester's Old Trafford.
Heading into the semi-final, Australia boast a much superior win/loss record than the Kiwis in test matches. Of the 135 tests played between the two sides, Australia have won exactly 100 of them to New Zealand's 32, with three draws for good measure.
Their last meeting at a World Cup came in 2013, where the Kangaroos convincingly dispatched the Kiwis 34-2 in the tournament final at Old Trafford.
