Wellington Phoenix have fought back from a goal down to claim a 1-1 draw against Perth Glory in their A-League Men fixture on Friday.
David Williams put the hosts ahead in the 22nd minute, glancing a header into the back of the net from a searching cross by fullback Salim Khelifi.
But just nine minutes later, the Phoenix responded through Polish striker Oskar Zawada. Bozhidar Kraev sparked the movement with a run through the midfield, sneaking a ball through to Sasse who found Zawada with a deft short touch near the edge of the box, who snuck his shot into the bottom right corner.
Zawada had a couple more golden opportunities to give the Phoenix the lead but was thwarted on both occasions by some excellent saves by goalkeeper Liam Reddy.
Counterpart Oli Sail also made some timely stops, highlighted by an acrobatic save of a free kick from Jack Glisby.
The result means the Phoenix are now unbeaten in three matches, moving to fifth on the competition ladder.
The Phoenix now return home to host Melbourne City on January 2.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix women will no longer travel to South Australia to face Adelaide United on Boxing Day due to a heatwave, with temperatures at Cooper Stadium predicted to hit up to 40 degrees.
The match will be rescheduled to a later date.
