The White Ferns' second one-day international against Bangladesh in Napier on Wednesday became the latest match in New Zealand to fall victim to the elements, abandoned due to rain.
Adding to the games lost during the Blackcaps' recent series against India, it's the sixth international fixture to be called off to start the home season, extending the undesirable record.
After a delayed start due to the inclement weather, the tourists won the toss and decided to bat first, making 157/7 from the reduced 44 overs, with spinner Fran Jonas the best of the NZ attack in claiming 2/30.
More rain saw the hosts' target recalculated to 156 from 43 overs but their chase never really got started, as the poor weather returned to out an end to any hope of completing the match.
Captain Sophie Devine was run out in the third over, before the downpour resumed to force the players from the field in the fifth over, with the White Ferns sitting at 14/1 - Suzie Bates on 9 and Amelia Kerr on 2.
After their resounding eight-wicket win in the first ODI at Wellington, the New Zealanders are now unable to lose the series and will have a chance to wrap it up in the third and final match at Hamilton on Saturday.
