The Crusaders have been judged to be Australasia's best sporting team, crowned by an Australian analytics firm.
In their analysis of the best-performing sides across New Zealand and Australia, the Crusaders topped Gain Line Analytics' top 25 list, ahead of some of the biggest teams from across the Tasman.
A sixth Super Rugby title in six years saw the Crusaders move up one spot from Gain Line Analytics' 2021 results, after last year's winners - Sydney FC - dropped to 18th.
As a prize, the Crusaders were awarded a grant of more than $10,000, which the team donated to Child Cancer New Zealand.
The only other Kiwi side to crack the top 25 was the Blues, who came in 23rd after a season that saw them finish second to the Crusaders in Super Rugby Pacific, as 154 teams were eligible.
A-League football champions Melbourne City came in second, while AFL winners Geelong Cats finished third.
Back-to-back NRL champions Penrith Panthers were fourth as the highest-placed rugby league side, as Melbourne Demons were the highest-ranked women's team in fifth after winning the AFLW.
Big Bash League side Sydney Sixers were the highest placed cricketing side in seventh, and the Melbourne Boomers in 11th were the top-ranked basketball team.
The rankings are determined by a five-year consistency average for sides across their respective competitions.
Teams' win-loss record in regular season matches were given a higher weighting, as opposed to one-off finals and playoff games.
COVID-19 and its impacts were taken into consideration.
The Crusaders last won the award in 2018, the year of a second successive Super Rugby title.
