Kiwi Steven Adams has had the last laugh against his former teammates, recording a double-double in Memphis Grizzlies' 116-101 NBA victory over New Orleans Pelicans.
Registering 21 rebounds and 10 points - as well as three assists - Adams notched his second consecutive double-double for the Grizzlies and his ninth double-double of the season.
Adams has now also recorded two double-doubles in as many games against the Pelicans this season, after also adding 15 points and 11 rebounds in a 132-111 victory in November.
The Kiwi also had a double-double against the Pelicans at the start of 2022, when he notched 14 points and 13 rebounds in a 121-109 win.
Since being traded to the Grizzlies from the Pelicans in 2021, Adams has averaged 9.17 points and 10.7 rebounds per game against his former side.
Teammate Ja Morant shone with 32 points, supported by 18 from Desmond Bane, 17 to Jaren Jackson Jr and 12 to Brandon Clarke.
For the Pelicans, rising star Zion Williamson stood out with 20 points and nine rebounds, supported by 15 points to Trey Murphy III.
The victory saw the Grizzlies notch back-to-back wins for the first time since mid-December and close the gap on the Pelicans in the NBA's Western Conference.
The Grizzlies remain third in the West, courtesy of their 22nd win of the season, one behind the second-placed Pelicans.
