UFC boss Dana White has made a public apology, after video of an altercation with wife Anne surfaced on tabloid news website TMZ.
The Whites were attending a New Year celebration at the El Squid Roe nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, when he said something to his wife, who responded by slapping him in the face.
White retaliated, slapping her twice.
"I'm one of the guys, you've heard me say for years, there's never, ever an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman," he told TMZ. "And now, here I am on TMZ, talking about it.
"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years. We've known each other since we were 12 years old.
"We've obviously be through some shit together. We've got three kids and this is one of this situations that's horrible.
"I'm embarrassed, but it's also one of those situations where, right now, we're more concerned about our kids. We've shown the kids the video and we're focused on our family right now."
Anne White insists the incident was totally out of character for her husband, who admitted they had both been drinking.
"I literally am making no excuses for this thing at all," Dana White told TMZ. "It's never happened before.
"People are going to say what they're going to say. It is what it is and whatever people do say, it's deserved... I deserve it."
