NRL stars Latrell Mitchell and Jack Wighton have reportedly been arrested in Canberra after an incident on Saturday night.
According to the Daily Telegraph, South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback Mitchell and Canberra Raiders five-eighth Wighton became involved in an alleged "fight between themselves".
It is understood the duo were out celebrating Wighton's 30th birthday.
Mitchell and Wighton were both named to take part in the NRL's all-star clash next Saturday, however their participation is now uncertain.
The report continues to say while the scuffle could be considered as play fighting between the pair, 25-year-old Mitchell is understood to have been charged with resisting arrest, with Wighton also charged by ACT police.
"Two men - a 30-year-old from Bywong, NSW and a 25-year-old man from Chifley, NSW - were arrested at the scene," Police said in a statement.
"The 30-year-old has been charged with fighting in a public place and failing to comply with an exclusion direction, while the 25-year-old has been charged with fighting in a public place, affray, and resisting public officials."
Both players spent the night in police cells before being released on Sunday morning.
The pair's clubs are co-operating with both the NRL's Integrity Unit and ACT Police.
"The NRL Integrity Unit has been made aware of this matter and is liaising with the Rabbitohs and Raiders clubs," the NRL said in a statement.
Both players will face the ACT Magistrates Court on February 22, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
