Both New Zealand sevens sides have completed a perfect opening day at the Vancouver leg of the World Series on Saturday (NZ time).
Respectively leading the World Series standings, the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens each won both of their matches on the first day.
Despite a convincing 52-0 win over USA first-up, the All Blacks Sevens were made to work to defeat Spain in their second match.
Spain threatened an upset, as Miguel Reina scored at the end of the first spell for a 7-0 lead, leaving the All Blacks Sevens staring at defeat.
But a second-half burst from New Zealand saw them fight back to stay unbeaten.
A double to Moses Leo, and another from Akuila Rokolisoa gave the All Blacks Sevens a 17-7 comeback win, to all but secure their place in Sunday's quarter-finals.
The All Blacks Sevens complete pool play on Sunday morning, when they face Samoa.
In the women's draw, the Black Ferns Sevens backed up from an impressive 60-0 opening win over Colombia to post an equally emphatic 43-7 victory over Great Britain.
Doubles to Stacey Fluhler and Sarah Hirini, and further scores to Jorja Miller, Shiray Kaka and Tyla Nathan-Wong took New Zealand's tally across their opening two matches to a whopping 17 tries.
The Black Ferns Sevens complete pool play against Fiji on Sunday morning, before a likely quarter-final against the best third-placed side from the three pools.
Should both New Zealand sides progress, the semi-finals and final will be played on Monday (NZ time).
