The Blackcaps have romped to a lopsided nine-wicket win in the second Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka in Dunedin on Wednesday.
After the Blackcaps had won the toss, Paceman Adam Milne (5/26) decimated the Sri lankan batting line-up, becoming just the third NZ player to take a five-wicket bag in a T20 international.
Chasing just 142 to win on the postage stamp University Oval, opener Tim Seifert put the contest to bed quickly with a whirlwind undefeated innings of 79 from just 43 balls - including six sixes - in a 106-run partnership with captain Tom Latham (20no).
The result squares the three-game series at one win apiece, with the decisive third match taking place in Queenstown on Saturday.
Sri Lanka lost both of their openers cheaply but battled back with 50/2 through their power play.
But when dangerman Dhanajaya was removed by Rachin Ravindra and Kusal Perea departed in quick succession courtesy of Milne to break a 62-run partnership, the wheels began to fall off.
Ish Sodhi ensured the clamps remained on the run rate, setting the scene for Milne's heroics.
The paceman claimed three of his five wicket in the penultimate over to send Sri Lanka packing with a total well below par.
The New Zealanders wasted no time with their chase, as Chad Bowes got stuck in with a quickfire 31 off just 15 balls to immediately put the hosts well ahead of the asking rate.
Seifert and Latham did the rest to seal a straightforward victory, as the Blackcaps bounced back from their Super Over defeat in the opening match at Eden Park.
New Zealand 146/1 (Seifert 79no, Bowes 31, Latham 20*) beat Sri Lanka 141 (Dhananjaya 37, Milne 5/26) by nine wickets
