Blackcaps opener Devon Conway has continued his outstanding Indian Premier League form, guiding Chennai Super Kings to an eight-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Sent into bat first, Chennai managed 226/6 off their 20 overs, with Conway thrashing 83 runs off 45 balls, including six fours and six sixes.
He provided the backbone of the innings, with partnerships of 74 runs with Ajinkya Rahane for the second wicket and 80 with Shivam Dube for the third, before he was eventually bowled by Harshal Patel in the 16th over.
Challengers lost Indian star Virat Kohli in the first over of their chase and Mahipal Lomror in the second, but a 126-run stand between Aussie Glenn Maxwell and South African Faf du Plessis had them back on track.
They reached 191/4 in the 17th over, but lost three wickets in the space of nine balls for six runs to stall their progress at a crucial time to fall short of their target.
In his previous outing - a three-run loss to Rajisthan Royals - Conway clubbed 50 runs off 38 balls, with six fours, to show his readiness for the upcoming World Cup in India.
