Blackcaps batter Devon Conway was in the runs yet again in the Indian Premier League, with another half-century to lead Chennai Super Kings to a seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Chasing 135 for victory, Conway struck twelve boundaries and one six on his way to an unbeaten 77 - as the Super Kings got home with more than an over to spare.
The successful run chase was built on the back of an 87-run stand for the first wicket, coming between India's Ruturaj Gaikwad (35) and Conway. The innings was Conway's third successive half-century, coming after his 83 earned an eight-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore earlier this week.
Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first, and restricted Sunrisers to just 134/7 from their 20 overs.
India batter Abishek Sharma was Hyderabad's top-scorer with 34 from 26 balls, as all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the standout bowler for Chennai, taking 3/22 from his four overs.
The victory sends the Super Kings into third on the IPL ladder, with four wins and two defeats.
But although they have an identical win-loss record as Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai sit third on the ladder on net-run-rate.
So far this season, Conway has scored 258 runs at an average of 51.60 for Chennai, with only former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis (343 at 68.60), Australia's David Warner (285 at 47.50) and India great Virat Kohli (279 at 55.80) having scored more.
