The Northern Mystics may be on top of the ANZ Premiership ladder, but on Sunday they will face the only team that's beaten them - the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic
The two sides met earlier in the season with the match going into overtime, becoming the seventh game to do so in the domestic competition's history.
The Mystics deserved to have some fun at training this week. They're amped up after two wins last weekend pushed them to the top of the ANZ Premiership ladder.
But while it's cause for celebration, they're wary of getting over-excited.
"It's only early in the season, there's a lot of competition and there have been some really close games in the last two or three weeks that have gone down to one goal or two goals," Mystics coach Tia Winikerei said.
And the Mystics know that all too well. The only game they've lost this season was against the Magic in round three, which went into six minutes of overtime.
That frustrating loss is motivating the Mystics.
"[We're] definitely not taking this game lightly at all," Michaela Sokolich-Beatson said.
"They did beat us by one last time and we even had the 10-goal lead, so we are very disappointed in ourselves for letting that happen."
The Mystics are wary of their opponents' attack, featuring Silver Ferns captain Ameliaranne Ekenasio and former Fern Bailey Mes, but are trying to concentrate on their own strengths.
"Our key focus would be to not focus on what happened last time and not worry about what they did but on our game plan and solidifying what we know we do well," Sokolich-Beatson said.
