The NZ Warriors are being brutally honest with themselves, after what they insist has been an "average start" to the NRL season.
Despite a four-win, two-loss record, coach Andrew Webster and his players are far from content with their performances, and know they have plenty more improvement in them.
"A bit average from us I reckon," Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad said. "We're happy with the wins obviously, but in each of those games, there's been so much improvement for us as a team.
After the high of that win over the Cronulla Sharks, the side were brought back down to earth by a frustrating defeat to the Newcastle Knights.
And despite that being just their second loss of the season, they know they have so much more to work on.
"Everyone's excited but we have not played well," Webster said. "So, to hear Charnze say that is not worrying, it's exciting.
"He knows and everyone knows we haven't played our best football and we're four from six so, we have a long way to go."
And they can start by improving their starts. The Knights were the latest side to run out to a big lead against the Warriors.
"After the game, I spoke about how excited I was even though we lost," Nicoll-Klokstad said. "It's something we can definitely learn from and we probably needed as well.
"I think that's the fourth week in a row we've let the lead blow out like that."
Webster's aware of the expectations on his side when they host the North Queensland Cowboys at Mt Smart on Saturday, but for him, it's performances that are front of mind.
"If you don't improve, the competition goes up and if you stay there, you'll see a gap in your performance compared to the rest of the competition," he said.
The best could be yet to come for the Warriors.
