At just seven years old, Kiwi Sarah Wadsworth is set to head to the US in June for the disc golf world championships.
You'd be forgiven for wondering how such a youngster fell in love with such an obscure sport like disc golf. Turns out it's all thanks to her dad and his mates.
"They said 'hey, why don't you play a round of disc golf' and I was like 'did you say disco? I want a disco'," Wadsworth laughs.
"I started throwing it and I was like 'oh my gosh, this is actually really fun'."
Fast forward and Wadsworth is ranked No. 1 in the world for 8-10 year olds and holds the world record for the longest throw for her age, reaching just over 62 metres.
"It's really cool to being first in the world," said Wadsworth.
Her coach and dad has been by her side every step of the way.
"She has this ability to take on information and then execute it, even a lot better than most adults," said Paul Wadsworth.
Wadsworth is now in training for disc golf's biggest stage.
"I get really nervous but off the tee, if I throw a good throw, I'm not nervous at all. I'm just really confident."
And she's making sure she's soaking up every moment.
"When Im a teenager, I'll look back and I'll see all of the memories," she added.
And you get the feeling there'll be plenty more of those.
