All Blacks and Chiefs star Samisoni Taukei'aho has extended his contract with NZ Rugby until after the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
With the new deal, the 21-test capped hooker becomes the first All Black to sign on until the end of the next World Cup cycle.
Since making his 2021 international debut, Taukei'aho has evolved as one of coach Ian Foster's most impactful players.
His tryscoring feats in 2022 etched his name in the history books, equalling the record for an All Blacks forward in a calendar year with seven put-downs.
"It's a privilege to represent Waikato, the Chiefs and the All Blacks," Taukei'aho said. "I am truly grateful to re-sign with NZR for four more years and have the opportunity to keep living my dream."
Born in Tonga, Taukei'aho was first spotted while he toured New Zealand, before moving to St Paul's Collegiate in Hamilton on an international scholarship in 2013.
He made his provincial debut for Waikato just three years later, before playing his first Super Rugby game for the Chiefs the very next season.
"We are ecstatic Samisoni has committed to being a long-term Chief," said Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan. "He is extremely proud of this region and all it represents, and no doubt, our loyal support base will be pleased to hear of this signing.
"The sacrifices and dedication Samisoni has made over the years have seen him develop into a world-class player. He still has significant growth in him and it's going to be exciting to see where he can get to in the years ahead."
