SailGP has announced its schedule for season four, which includes the global sailing league's first event in Auckland next year on March 23-24.
Last month, the competition made its debut on NZ shores in Christchurch, with sold-out crowds on hand at Lyttelton Harbour to watch the Peter Burling and Blair Tuke-led Kiwi challenge.
Its arrival in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf is part of a multi-year agreement that sees the city alternate with Christchurch as hosts for four consecutive seasons of the New Zealand Grand Prix.
"The success of the New Zealand Sail Grand Prix in Christchurch demonstrated the huge propensity for SailGP in New Zealand - from the sold out event village to thousands of fans watching in the city centre and along the shoreline," said NZ head Karl Budge.
"We're looking forward to delivering another world-class event in Tāmaki Makaurau next March and giving more New Zealanders more of the sport they love."
Sail GP is an international match-racing series featuring teams from across the world competing in F50 foiling catamarans in a series of events.
The competition was founded two years ago by decorated Kiwi sailor Sir Russell Coutts and Oracle founder Larry Ellison, who aimed to create sailing's answer to Formula One.
The competition began with six teams back in 2019 and has since expanded to 10, with New Zealand making their first appearance in 2021. They finished at the top of the standings in their debut season but were beaten by their trans-Tasman rivals in the grand final.
The Christchurch regatta was won by Canada, with New Zealand finishing in second place.
