Kiwi Paul Coll's bid for a third-straight British Open has ended with semi-final defeat to top seed Diego Elias.
Coll couldn't keep pace with the Peruvian, managing to take only one game from his rival in a 4-11 3-11 11-2 1-11 loss.
Elias showed why he will become the top-ranked male player next week, when he took a two-game lead, but back-to-back defending champion Coll landed the perfect reply, taking the third to stay alive in the contest.
After a lengthy delay, when Coll was accidentally elbowed in the face, Elias blitzed the crucial fourth game to secure a final berth.
Elias will take on Egpyt's Ali Farag in the final.
Kiwi Joelle King also struggled in her semi-final of the women's draw, going down to Nouran Gohar in straight games.
The top-seeded Egyptian was in complete control, as she raced to an 11-3 11-9 11-1 victory.
Nouhar will face compatriot Nour El Shebini in the final.
