Blackcaps masterblaster Glenn Phillips has pulled off a heroic late assault to help his IPL side an improbable win on Monday morning (NZ time).
Needing 41 runs off 12 balls, Philips slayed 25 runs off seven balls - including three straight sixes - to put his Sunrisers Hyderabad into position to pull off a hugely unlikely win over Rajasthan Royals.
He departed in the final ball of the 19th over after skying another heave, leaving the Sunrisers with 17 more runs to win.
Hunting the five runs needed off the last ball of the innings, Abdul Samad was caught at deep long-on, only for the umpire to rule a no-ball by Sandeep.
Samad then launched a six back over Sandeep's head off his last ball to clinch a four-wicket win.
Phillips was playing just his second game of the season, filling in for England star Harry Brooks, and his efforts earned him the player of the match award.
