NZ Warriors have re-signed utility back Marcelo Montoya through to the end of the 2025 NRL season, in another boost for the Kiwi club.
Montoya, 27, has quickly become a key player under new coach Andrew Webster, able to cover both centre and the wing.
Since arriving from Canterbury Bulldogs in 2021, Montoya has made 45 appearances in a Warriors jersey, scoring 14 tries.
On top of his time with the Warriors, Montoya has made 99 appearances all up in the NRL, and will reach his century if named to face Penrith Panthers in Brisbane next weekend.
"Marcelo is a terfific player and person to have at our club. He gives so much in all he does," said Webster.
"He has had to wait to experience being with the club at home but he's revelling in it and that's reflected in the work he has done to earn an extension."
Montoya's commitment makes him just the latest player to put pen to paper on new deals at the Kiwi club.
On top of a host of new arrivals at Mt Smart to start the 2023 season, the Warriors have also secured Addin Fonua-Blake through to the end of 2026, while Jazz Tevaga is committed until the end of 2024.
Aside from re-signings, the Warriors have also recaptured Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on a three-year deal, with the 29-year-old to rejoin the club on a three-year deal from next year.
