He's played with All Blacks icons, and yet Nick Percy was just happy to get through his latest milestone.
On Saturday, he played his 400th game for the High School Old Boys club in Christchurch - an achievement three decades in the making.
And while he knows retirement's on its way, Percy's still receiving plaudits, including from his kids.
By his own admission, Percy is happy to chalk up the little wins nowadays.
"Thank god I got through this game today, and didn't embarrass myself," he told Newshub. "So that was good."
But it wasn't just any game for the - well, his age doesn't matter, it was his 400th.
"It's quite a big milestone," said daughter Sophie. "He's been playing since before we were born, so it's really big."
Not just before his kids were born, but a lot of his teammates too.
Other teammates, he proudly reels off as if reciting the club's honours board.
"We had Graeme Bachop, Richard Loe, Reuben Thorne was captain, and obviously Andrew Mehrtens," Percy added.
"Dan Carter, the Mauger brothers. There's a whole heap of them."
While he's not as agile or mobile as he was when it all started back in 1991, or even 2001, Percy's now seen as the steady old head.
"He's an outstanding player," said club captain Alex Newfield. "Still, at his age, he comes on and he gets us out of a lot of trouble late in the game at times."
Though with retirement not far off, a couple of games stand out above the rest.
"I managed to kick the winning penalty a couple of years ago," he added. "That was pretty special as a 48-year-old.
"But also the 1995 grand final. That was the first time Old Boys had won a championship for 16 years or so.
"That was pretty special."
But for now, it's just a celebration of still being able to lace up the boots, as his biggest fans watch on.
"Four hundred, a big number," said son Jack. "He's been playing for the club since he was like 10, so it's really good."
And that sort of praise is a win in itself.
