Rugby league journalist Paul Kent has been charged by NSW police with assault after an alleged domestic violence incident at his Sydney home.
Kent, 53, is a presenter on Fox Sports' popular weekly show NRL 360 - which screens in New Zealand on Sky Sports - and a journalist for The Daily Telegraph.
On Friday morning, police were called to Kent's residence in Sydney's inner west in response to reports of a domestic dispute.
Police allege Kent had an argument with the 33-year-old woman before he assaulted her.
Both Kent and the woman - who know one another - were arrested.
Kent was charged with common assault and choking a person without consent, while the woman was released without charge.
Kent has been granted bail and will face court next Wednesday.
Newscorp said Kent has been temporarily stood down from his duties with both The Daily Telegraph and Fox Sports.
