Already crowned world series champions at Toulouse last week, the All Blacks Sevens have gone unbeaten on the opening day of the season-ending London leg at Twickenham.
Despite being grouped in the same pool as heavyweights USA, South Africa and hosts Great Britain, the NZ men won three from three, scoring 15 tries in the process.
A try double to Leroy Carter, and further scores to Roderick Solo, Sione Molia and Xavier Harris paved the way for a 35-17 victory over the Americans, with 21 points scored in the second half.
Molia had his second of the day in New Zealand's next group match, as New Zealand outplayed their hosts for a 20-5 win.
Dylan Collier, Regan Ware and Akuila Rokolisoa scored one try apiece to book a spot in the quarter-finals with a game to spare, but even with two wins from two, New Zealand didn't take their foot off the gas.
In their final match of the day, Rokolisoa took his tally of tries to four, bagging a hat-trick - with a further double to Harris - as New Zealand outclassed South Africa 32-21.
There were warning signs for the Kiwis, as South Africa outscored them in the second half, with three tries to two.
The first day's results saw New Zealand and Samoa finish with perfect records, confirming the quarter-final seedings. New Zealand will face France, who finished third in Pool C, behind Samoa and Australia.
Should they emerge victorious from their first knockout match, a date against eight Australia or Fiji would await for a place in the final.
The All Blacks Sevens cannot be passed at the top of the world series standings, holding a 27-point lead over Argentina, with five tournament wins in their last six appearances.
