New Zealand have reason to be confident going into the Sail GP decider in San Francisco, after a trio of podiums - including a win - in Saturday's (NZ time) practice races.
But it was one of their rivals that emerged as perhaps the most likely to prevent Australia from claiming a third title.
"We've had some great battles with all three of the teams to my right over the season and we're looking forward to a really fun weekend ahead," NZ driver Peter Burling told Newshub.
Tom Slingby's Australia team are already assured one of three spots in Monday's one-off race for the Sail GP title.
"Honestly, for us, we don't mind who wins out of these guys," Slingsby said. "May the best team win."
And while the Kiwis are almost certain to qualify for the winner-take-all race, only a point separates France in third and Great Britain in fourth.
The Brits feel they can deliver a knockout blow.
"I think it's Mike Tyson who said 'everyone's got a plan until they get punched in the face', right?" Sir Ben Ainslie said.
And Sir Ben and his crew threw the biggest punches during practice, winning two races in what could have been a form guide for the decider, with conditions on San Francisco bay set to be similar on Monday.
"Fourteen to 18 knots with gusts of 20, which is absolutely perfect," said Slingsby.
One man that’s used to flying high in 'San Fran' is Jimmy Spithill, although this time around his USA team are out of contention for the final.
Now there's another Aussie looking to spoil the Kiwi party.
"I think Burling knows that it's all in the heat of battle and everything that gets done on the water," said Slingsby.
